They are almost always there, by the side of the road, on the road, waiting for whatever it is they find there, and I think of them as road warriors.

A linocut reduction means that I start by cutting away areas that should remain white, apply the first color to the entire edition, and then cut away the areas I want to be light gray, roll up the plate for each of the 10 prints and take the entire edition through the press, etc etc, until I am done, after the last color, black, the plate is so cut that there is nothing more to print, which is why reductions are also called lost plate.
I love this technique, building up the print, using the marks from the lino knives to enhance the print and see it emerge. Lino reductions in my book tends to be best value prints as it is difficult to charge what they really should cost in terms of hours spent on making a print.

I made a very small edition of my Road Warriors, so there are only 10 prints, please note you might not receive the number in the photo.
The paper, a lovely velvety white heavy printmaking paper
measures 70 cm x 38 cm (27" x 15")
and the actual plate mark, the printed area measures 60 cm x 30 cm (24" x 12")
I have signed, titled and numbered each print.

I ship from my studio in Denmark with many years experience in packing my prints so they arrive safely, see my over 960 reviews.
Thanks for looking, Mariann
