Rising sun, kingdom of lead, oil on canvas, was done during the pandemic. The title of the painting describes the tension the static figure on the painting is experiencing in his habitat (in his kingdom). It also shows hope for the future as the sun is about to rise. There is a tension though between the human condition and hope. Human condition feels like lead, heavy and static but there is a moment when the rising sun gives energy to the figure to stand up.
Original artwork, oil on canvas, ready to hang.
