This painting is from the series of photos I took in the Outback Nov 2020. It was an hour south of Winton and 44 degrees in early November.
In this painting I'm trying to capture that feeling of oppressive heat, and the atmosphere.
For me that is what painting is all about ... painting a feeling of the subject as opposed to a technically perfect rendering.
The challenge is knowing when to stop. When it's finished. When you have captured that elusive emotional element.
Who knows exactly when you have captured that it factor in a painting.
No wonder it's a life long pursuit and mastery is elusive.
