Located at 2561 m Forcella Fontananegra, in the heart of the Tofane, the Camillo Giussani alpine hut is one of my favourite high places to sleep.
I spend a lot of time among the mountains, climbing, studying and painting the rock. The little cabins and refuges, perched seemingly impossibly high on teetering rock towers above awesome drops down to valleys below, are something I love to paint and draw. I have stayed in many of these. This painting is part of a series of large abstract paintings of some of the mountains I love
