This etching was created on a copper plate - tiny grooves and pits were made using a variety of resists and ferric chloride. The plate is inked up in 12 colours then wiped back carefully before being printed onto damp paper on a traditional etching press (a bit like a mangle if you can remember mangles!) The plate is inked and printed by hand for every print in the edition. It comes in an acid-free window mount and is carefully flat-packed with at least 3 layers of cardboard.
