At a time in my life I was fascinated by mannequins and the reflections in some shop windows, so I used to go around the city, and as for my previous work ‘RIFLESSI SU MILANO’, published here, here too I portray the reflection of a shop window in via Montenapoleone, with people walking around reflected in the window as well as the model in the foreground, to which I add a series of pictorial interventions, drips, visual disturbances.
- The instinctive power of expressionism. -
The female portraits, lit by full colours and made vibrant by a series of pictorial interventions. Streaks of spatulated colours, drips, visual disturbances. Beautiful women, portrayed and painted by me, are almost never mere portraits, but archetypes of contemporary femininity, recounted by means of psychological research. The enigma of one's own image, an identity that is equivocal in many. It is the search for one's own identity that drives one to true self-knowledge.
