The proud three-master "Rickmer Rickmers" lies as a relic from the old days in the lively, modern port of Hamburg, here in an evening mood, with the Elbphilharmonie (Elbe Philharmonic Hall) silhouetted in the background.

The patchy application of paint and the use of squeegees and palette knives have created a modern, semi-abstract harbour image.

The edges are painted, the painting can be hung without additional framing.
