Another monochrome of Thanet's rich history. This is the secret port of Richborough at Sandwich in Kent. Built in WW1 and used in both wars as a munitions and supply port for troops on continent. It is known that the Romans invaded here and built Richborough Fort a short distance away the sea level being much higher then.
