Painted on-site at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Milwaukee, WI. Features an iris flower with deep, dark purple petals, thin white edging, and lavender beards. The petals also include burgundy, magenta, and lavender-blue highlights. The flower is accented by green foliage to the lower left and a lighter, lavender iris peeking out at the top right. The running and splattering effects in the background are created with water-based casein paint, and glazed over with oil. The flower is painted with both brush and palette knife. The petal shapes are enhanced by the texture of the paint.
Framed in a 2.5" wide wood frame with a mahogany finish, which complements the colors in the painting.
