This mixed-media Acrylic and Ink painting was created concurrently with the Watering the Ricefields piece during a family trip to Yilan, Taiwan. Yilan is a very special, relaxing and beautiful area in Eastern Taiwan with lots of Ricefields. I decided to create two pieces at the same time as with this piece I wanted to focus on two buildings in the view that have Pigeon lofts on the top floors. This is yet another thing on my very long list of interesting sights to be found in Taiwan. I like how these uniquely shaped coups are built high up and stand out against the sky and lush greens of the fields in this view. As with the other painting when this was started “en plein air” the hazy morning light made distant details hard to make out. It wasn't until a nearby Typhoon sucked the clouds away that a huge mountain range was revealed at the end of the week! By this time I decided not to add it in as I was focused on other details. I enjoyed greatly getting up at 6 am to paint this beautiful view for a few hours each day before the heat of the day became too much. After doing this for a week during our trip I finished the painting at home in my studio in Taipei City.

Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
