Original artwork description:

This is another of my small, oil studies of a nude - slightly larger at 8 x 12". This is a subject I enjoying painting so much and one I never tire of. This time I have the sitter looking out of the picture to engage with the viewer, and I have used a warm palette with some rich reds, and also included impasto in the background; the roughness of which acts as a contrast to the smoothness of the flesh.

The human figure - female or male - is endlessly fascinating and a body can express as much emotion as a face. Besides, in my opinion, there is something restful as well as beautiful in the portrayal of a nude figure.

I hope you agree!
