This painting is part of a series for a Dr. Zivago illustration and was painted in my Moscow studio in 2014.

It is specifically for a Boris Pasternak poem called Maria Maddalena.
In classical art, nudity was usually manifested as purity so when Mary is lamenting, it means that she’s purifying her soul.

Upon purchase, this painting will be carefully rolled in a sturdy tube and shipped via express courier with tracking number.
