Oil on deep edge canvas
This was painted in 2018 the same year as the Time's Up charity came about, (in response to the Weinstein effect and the Me Too Movement). The composition is based on a scene from a film of the same year, a woman confronts her childhood abuser. The scene has been cropped and altered; the subjects fingers, once holding a cigarette, now removed, point in an accusatory and threatening manner. The work's title has been taken in part from dialogue, 'Repent' and with the added 'Times Up', serves to reference the organisation which supports victims of sexual harassment.
