Remembering Curaçao 1 was his attempt to begin to capture how he felt about his Curaçao experience. It’s an abstract painting, but it hints at an elevated view above the bay and the island. He was particularly inspired by this viewpoint as he anticipated disembarking the cruise boat. He watched from his cabin deck high above the water as the crew moored the ship. He studied the colors, the landscape, the beaches, the sea from the ship. He ventured to the highest outside decks of the cruise boat to get his elevated perspective and a different vantage point.
