I began this work in the '90's. As with all my pieces, I take many years to complete, returning to them when I feel inspired to add another layer of my development. I completed Relic this year, when I felt I could do no more.
RELIC is from a time past and a time to come. It is about chaos through belief. We are all in the reflection of life and what we do is up to us. I see beauty in the most challenging of subjects, for beauty can be found in the darkest corners, where true creativity lies.
As to materials ,,, I tend to work in series, using a specific medium, generally ones that have been abandoned by others, bringing to life the detritus of others. This allows me to leave whole series aside, until I am able to unlock the creativity that I felt was missing.
