Very nordic colour palette in my perception. A symbolical painting with an interesting story that also serves as a good illustration of how art can become a truly transformative experience - the work started out as an imaginary internal landscape, yet early on in the process without much conscious intention an a building appeared in the distance - where now you can see the birds taking off there stood an old tower - very much like your classic wizard's tower from fantasy movies where you would imagine some secluded alchemist spending his time scheming some dubious plans. I didn't like it by a bit and decided to dismantle it somehow - but rather than repainting that part I just focused my attention on deconstructing all that petrified structure and after a while of just letting my hand guide I realized I'm painting birds and the tower is progressively dissapearing in white light/clouds. All the process accompanied by a very nice feeling of release and sudden lightness - clearly, apart from the painterly work some meaningful psychological one has been done on symbolical level.
When approached sincerely and with true dedication art does have the potential to transform and make us better... and we also get some beautiful images as a side effect ;))
The painting is in oil on high quality linnen canvas, gallery wrapped onto spruce stretcher, Sides are finished matte black so there is no need for framing. Comes fitted with a hook and ready to hang.
