Regrets Of A Common Man - Oil On Paper - Ryan Louder 2017 _x000D_ _x000D_ Regret can be an overwhelming thought in the head of a middle aged person hence the saying "mid life crisis". The face is painted at that moment where the realisation of a major regret comes to mind. "It can be an inner explosion of a thought that can happen anywhere; a supermarket, at home, a walk in the park". I’m a London-based artist, and my work often reflects vivid and surreal imagery inspired by my unique experience with REM intrusion—a condition where dream-like visions can appear while I’m awake. My paintings explore the boundary between waking reality and the dream world, using layered compositions to create a sense of depth and movement. I paint with high-quality materials and put a lot of thought into texture and detail. My process is a mix of intuitive brushwork and deliberate layering, aiming to create pieces that are rich in emotion and invite you to see something new each time you look at them.
