200- Reformation Abstract
In this painting I am intrigued by the need for, and often the futility of, reformation. Here the blue horizontal squares show signs of imperfection. Stimulated by a pink catalyst these are reformed across the piece, from left to right, into a red diagonal arrangement, that is still less than perfect. There is evidence of the imperfection in the reformation, with vestiges of the original flaws. Metallurgical grains and crystal structures are hinted at. The blue grains appear pinned by the red, but in fact these red cells become the main arrangement, while blue, still present, now pins the red squares.
