Original artwork description:

Painted en plein air (on location) during Los Gatos Plein Air Event 2019. That year we had lots of rain, so all the lakes, reservoirs, and creeks were full, the water levels were so high that many trees growing along the shores ended up in the water. It created an interesting subject to paint.
Plein-air painting is the practice of painting landscape pictures out-of-doors, more loosely. Painting en plein air, though very challenging due to unpredictability and varying conditions, like constantly changing light, wind and rain, heat or cold, or crowds of spectators giving their opinion or advice :), can be very rewarding, since it allows me to experience the landscape to the maximum and capture the spirit and essence of a landscape by incorporating natural light, color, and movement into my works.

Materials:
Oil paint on Oil Primed 100% Professional grade Artfix Belgium Linen mounted on archival 3/16" Gatorfoam panel. For over 50 years, Artfix has been internationally recognized as the finest linen with a true conservator grade surface. All linens are meticulously hand primed in a small village in Provence, France by the Narozni family. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish.
