The sun going down behind Eilean Donan Castle.
This is a 9 colour reduction lino print, drawn, carved and printed by hand from one peice of lino where each layer of colour is printed individually and then the block recarved for the next. No more can be printed afterwards as the block is effectively being destroyed with each successive layer. As these are hand printed, there are very small variations between each print making each one unique. An edition of only 16 printed in light fast water based inks on Somerset Satin 300gsm archival paper.
Each print is numbered, signed and dated on the front
***This art work comes UNFRAMED and UNMOUNTED. Any frames and accessories shown in the images are for display purposes only and are not included***
[PROCESS]
Linoprint is a type of relief printing, where the image is carved into a plate (in this case traditional linoleum) and then inked and printed either by hand or through a press. This is an entirely handmade process and although each print in the edition is printed from the same plate, each print is also completely unique and original.
