Often what can be seen on the surface is only a small part of what binds the trees to this earth. They may have been guardians for hundreds of years, their history & folklore bring an added mystery to their ancient lives.

I have created an imaginary, ethereal setting for the Ash tree. Multiple layers of colour and texture have been applied to create the dramatic backdrop. In contrast part of the tree is reflected in the imitation Gold leaf panel, representing the history of the tree. Surrounding it is feint, inverted, barely readable text about some of the folklore connected to it.

This is a combination of photography, drawing & digital manipulation. The print will be sent mounted
