Original artwork description:

This painting (just like its sister painting) is divided in two parts by a vertical line that resembles the reflecting surface of a mirror, which divides and in the same time connects the world before and behind it or the spectator and their "reflection" in the painting.
Parallel to this there is another reflecting surface - that of the canvas - that reveals images under the paint surface - just as an old dull mirror.

One may also say that both paintings evoke associations of dynamic and static respectively, where, to me, the Reflection in Blue II conveys the feeling of static.
. . .

The two paintings (Reflection in Blue I & II) could be hanged together, building a nice diptych and probably the best way is to hang them one above the other. However a hanging next to each other is quite possible and nice as well.

About
To me a work of (visual) art is a kind of dream, a medium, which in its silent vagueness conveys what sometimes clear conceptual thinking cannot communicate and is otherwise inexpressible.... Read more
