The image is composed of various views seen in an around the river, sketched whilst not looking at the paper, allowing for interesting elements to play against one another through as little human interaction as possible, except for the choice of the colour and the tool used.

The images are composed to form and image that brings in the importance of space and its importance to bringing form to the finished piece, exploring the quote 'Form must be balanced by means of space' by Hans Hofmann.
