This painting is called Reflect and Ruminate. It is a mixed media artwork depicting a young woman lost in her thoughts. The excerpts from my favorite books, poems and music sheets were incorporated in the background of this painting to create an additional narrative. Although the background is very modern, vibrant, the woman itself is painted in black and white. The colorful and busy background represents the fast paced "now" world, however the monochrome colors of the figure of an elegant woman reflect her peaceful state of mind.

This is an original artwork, painted with acrylic paints. The sides of the canvas are painted and it's ready to hang. I always use 1.5" thick gallery wrapped cotton canvas for its durability and its 3D effect. The canvas is stretched over high quality pine wood frames and stapled on the back providing a clean finish on the sides. Since the sides are painted, the painting can be left unframed for the contemporary look.
