Painted on-site in my neighborhood in Minneapolis, MN. Features a maple tree in autumn color, with leaves of deep burgundy and rust red, orange, and peach. The tree is accented by light, lemon yellow background foliage at the upper right and lower left, and autumn grasses, shrubs, and fallen leaves below the tree.
Painted in oil over casein paint on board. The background sky and grass was created with casein paint, which has a soft matte texture that contrasts with the oil. The thickly textured foliage is created with oil applied with palette knife.
