Original artwork description:

I was feeling the need to paint with some bright, cheerful colours and a parrot seemed to fit the bill nicely.

I have combined fine detailed work in the facial details alongside looser, more impressionistic brush strokes for the feathers. I enjoy exploring varied use of brush sizes and marks within my paintings.

Painted on a 14" X 10" stretched linen canvas (the sides are painted very dark green/black). It can be hung without a frame, but will also slot into a frame if desired (it is sold unframed). All materials used are artists' professional quality.

The painting is varnished with a satin-finish varnish, which gives it a soft sheen. It has 2 D-rings and is wired, and ready to hang.
