Original artwork description:

The colourful buildings by the Cours Saleya marche in Nice Old Town, buzzing with lively cafes and people. The girl in the foreground is having a leisurely wander through the famous market. The house where Matisse lived and worked is in the background on the right. Deep shadows fall against the ground and under the cafe awnings. I painted this after a recent visit to Nice as I was so inspired by the light and colours. The market was wonderful and full of colour. Lavender, herbs, cheese, vegetables, flowers, and art were all for sale.
