I painted this rose from a real rose and painted a green, blue and silver background colour to compliment the rose and textured to give an abstract and surreal look to the visual. I have created a stunning raised surface using impasto gel and highlighted the areas using gold paint. It is made with a palette knife, paintbrush and the heavy layers of paint which gives it a stunningly moreish texture and feel and realistic look of a layered rose. I hope you enjoy it.
