Title: Red Cuillin Fire
Rich red drama, mountains, myth and legend; let your imagination run wild. At the bottom of our island, we have mountains with graphic shapes and fabulous colours. Ancient rocks filled with the spirit of Skye, romantic, mysterious and magnetic. This is one of my Moving Mountains series which focus on the essence of the Red Cuillins on the Isle of Skye. These red coloured mountains were created when an enormous volcano erupted over 165 million years ago. I love the way the colours of the rock takes on various shades depending on the light.
This is a single image created in the camera using special techniques, I have to visualise the image before I make it and take many attempts before I am happy with it. I then work on it to bring out each colour and texture until my vision is complete.

This is also available of beautiful fine art paper on request or on luxury Chromaluxe.
About My Work
I believe in giving my clients beautiful artwork on luxury papers that hold their colours for a lifetime! For these special prints of my work I use dreamy, light textured Canson Canvas and the highest quality inks. I do all my own printing, having spent years learning this skill I prefer to maintain control of the colour representation at all stages to ensure you get a truly handmade image.
About My Materials
People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI, their paper was used by Voltaire and Napoleon and the Montgolfier brothers used Canson paper to make the first hot air balloon. Canson paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Chagal, Miro and many other artists. They have been making paper and canvas for photography since this art began over 150 years ago. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.
Other Sizes
This print is available in other sizes on canvas or paper. I am happy to take custom orders, just drop me a line.
A Note on Canvases
Canvases are unframed and unmounted, they need to be stretched or framed once you get them. They are matte varnished and come with 1.5 inch (4cm) border for the sides. Once ready, they are carefully wrapped in acid free tissue then shipped in a sturdy art tube to ensure safe delivery. All taxes and duties to be paid by the receiver.
