This painting of coastal cliffs with red earth and rocks is done largely with the palette knife.
I have been exploring the use of painting with the palette knife a lot more in recent years. Typically when we think of painting we think of using a brush to make marks. And while the brush can give a good range of marks it does have its limitations.
The palette knife gives you less control of the marks you make. It has a hit and miss type effect which when its well executed gives some great results. The illusion of details is probably the key thing I like about the use of the palette knife.
Note - This painting is sold frame. Please allow two to three weeks for delivery to allow time to order the framing.
