Painted en plein air on the American River Parkway.
En plein air is a French expression which means “in the open air”, and is used to describe the act of painting outdoors to capture the light and colors particular to a location.

Materials used to create this artwork:
Oil on oil-primed Claessens Belgian linen on 1/8 MDF archival art panel, the back of the panel finished with melamine that prevents warping and deterioration. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is varnished and is listed unframed. It will need a frame to hang. It can easily fit in a standard (USA) 9"x12" frame. Images showing the artwork framed in home interiors are for presentation of potential framing ideas only. Frame is NOT included.
