A lot of kids were encouraged to play musical instruments when I was school age and this was a popular one then, a recorder. They were relatively simple to play with beautiful sound and inexpensive. Inspired by my memories and the beauty of the wooden, elegantly shaped instrument, I painted in my unique style with thick, bright, opaque pigment. This painting was an experiment and exploration of pink and purple with yellowish green and a distorted shadow that bends where the wall meets the floor. This artwork is unframed with gallery wrapped canvas and edges painted neatly. All hardware is attached and it is ready to hang on the wall.
