This beautiful female nude study was drawn at my life class. She had a rose in her hair which somehow emphasised her femininity along with her curvaceous shape. It is a quick sketch which captures the reclining figure drawn with a conte pastel. I've used professional quality pastels on pastel paper: a heavy weight textured paper, especially for soft pastel.
I've 'fixed' the image with pastel fixative The blue of the drapes helps show the contours . Pastel is good for life drawings as it is a spontaneous medium and captures the quick pose perfectly on the archival pastel paper.

The artwork is available unframed.
