Original artwork description:

I draw this model at a life class. She looked so curvaceous and reminiscent of a Paul Gauguin painting though I wanted to give a different slant to her by adding the red Kimono. The central theme being reminiscent of Paul Gauguin is the reclining shape of the nude against the colourful drapes which I added to in my studio. The red Kimono is also a running theme to my still life paintings. I used pastel as it is pure pigment and worked well with this nude study. The patterned background and briliant red of the Kimono helps to accentuate the form of this life study of a beautiful women. This pastel artwork has a white mount and is framed with a silver frame. Or it can be sent unframed
