This painting has taken 4 months - a record amount of time for me. It’s the first painting I’ve painted since the birth of my son, so it has been a real labour of love. Painted whilst the baby slept, with him in my arms, bouncing him next to the easel, late at night, early in the morning, in all manner of moments.

Usually, I start a piece and paint constantly until it is done. this is no longer feasible, and this piece has taught me to accept and enjoy my new reality.

Yesterday, as I finished the painting, I held the baby in my arms and he looked up at the painting, totally mesmerised by it. My heart is full.

This piece is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. It will be carefully wrapped in tissue and foam board and shipped in a cardboard box within five working days.
