"Rebirth" (2017) is the sculpture of a woman curled up inside a spherical organic shape. The piece was initially executed in clay before being cast in bronze. Technically it is a complicated piece, and it has been my most challenging bronze so far.
I used a blue patina for the woman and the inside and polished the outside smooth surface of the sphere. The blue patina evoking the ocean reinforces the feeling of calm and emerging life I wanted to convey with this piece.
