This piece is an oil painting on linen. This work depicts a summer landscape, in Fossil beach, a cove in the town of Altea, in the Spanish Mediterranean.
In the foreground are a couple of older tourists reading, each in a landscape layout. Only they are on the beach, even the rescuer’s chair is empty, no more people. They don’t interact directly with other people, including each other. What do they read? Why are they abstracted from the moment of reality? do you enjoy the scenery? I have found poetics at this time, which is explained in an act of contemplation of the work and the creation of the image, just as a reader interprets reading and creates mental images, because with pictorial language the artist writes and interprets a vision of reality, in the same way that each of those who are observing this painting will read and interpret this image, which positions the observer metaphorically in the painting, just as a mirror.
