Coming from my subconscious this picture is all about me living on the coast during a heatwave, whereas it is all about pattern and its powers. This will sound silly but for a while now I have been bored with the colours and shapes that are available to me, I have wanted to use colours and shapes that do not exist. So what I am doing is using shapes and colours and adding patterns to my palette, for example, instead of choosing a colour I also have a choice of using a pattern to fill in a shape. For some yet unknown reason, the use of pattern gives an image a new dimension, one that I cannot explain but one that satisfies my urges to explore new ground.
