One late evening, Maasai Mara, Kenya. I was following a cheetah mother with her cubs and marveling at the rapport between the cubs. After a while, I realized that there was an opportunity to depict something relating to the close bond between the cubs. The chance occurred in the soft glow of the evening light when they bedded for the night, close together for warmth. How moods change – a few minutes ago, these two brother and sister were playing, running, chasing, and play-fighting. Now they are entirely relaxed and still best of friends. This, then, is a print of ‘Togetherness’.
Fast forward a couple of years and the cubs had grown to be lonesome adults. That is life, I guess. However, although what I photographed was transient, what I saw in my heart was eternal.
This Giclee print is a colour print made on hannemuhle photo rag 308 gsm paper which has a very smooth surface. (Giclee describes a fine art printing process that combines pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper). My Giclee prints have an extremely wide tonal range and colour gamut.
