Original artwork description:

Each spring I try not to miss the chance and get a bouquet of ranunculus so that to enjoy the observing and painting of these extremely beautiful flowers.
This time, the object of my passion was a bunch of the gently pink ranunculus recalls roses with their color shade. I tried to do my best to transfer the fresh impression from nature using the rapidly alla prima technique. Using wide, bold brush strokes, I intentionally left some areas that look like unfinished. I refused a realistic rendering in order to preserve vivacity and expressiveness.
I didn't experiment with the composition and arranged the flowers in a vase in a quite classic still life. What was the main point of interest for me is a combination of light and dark, the contrast and volume. I especially like the warm sunlight that fills the whole view, makes the flowers vivid and airly. I also paid a lot of attention to the vase with its gorgeous pattern. It perfectly complements ranunculus and seen as a self-contained art object in addition to flowers.
