This is a portrait of Jazz great, Ramsey Lewis. He is an American jazz composer, pianist and radio personality. Ramsey Lewis has recorded over 80 albums and has received seven gold records and three Grammy Awards so far in his career. His group’s record sales number in the tens of millions. As I was painting this portrait (2016), Ramsey was celebrating his 80th birthday. The portrait is of a much younger Ramsey.
This painting is india ink and acrylic paint on archival grade drafting mylar. It is mounted on tempered masonite with a hanging strip on the back.
This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork. No authorized copies will ever be produced.
There is a signed certificate of authenticity on the back.
