When I was a child my dad and I used to take long, delightful walks in the countryside of Alto Salento (Apulia). The characteristic of our countryside is dry stone wall along the road, skillfully put together by the masterful hands of builders who have been erecting those generations after generations. Blackberry brambles would often make their way through the stones and my father would pick them for me, preventing me from being stung by the thorns. But before enjoying those blackberries, I would always take a moment to examine just how beautiful these little jewels of the Nature and admire their purples sometimes fading to black, sometimes to red. In memory of those times long gone, in an attempt to bring them back in time, I drew a Blackberry twig with those same colours.

Materials used:

Caran D'Ache colored pencils on 220grams smooth paper
