Original artwork description:
Raku sphere handbuild from white china clay. Raku fired using our own glaze resist slip wich was covered with a transparent glaze. Fired to 1000C, then pulled from the kiln and smoked in a container with straw and sawdust. When taken out of the smoker, the transparent glaze peels off like an eggshell, leaving the bare clay with its smoked fired crazing.
The plinth is heavily grogged clay and smoke-fired with 3 ceramic pebbles wich are also smoke-fired.
