I painted this series of water lilly paintings in Lewes near Glyndebourne Opera House where I was able to go and paint during the summer.
I really enjoyed getting to know the Hawthorn and Water Lillies as they emerged from the lake, like magic. There is something very romantic about the combination of Water lillies and Opera.
I used acrylics and oils in this painting, because the acrylics were easier to work on site by the Lakes, I love the rich texture and colours of oil, so I finished this in the studio with oils and have used a combination of palette knife and brush.
The painting is signed on the front and back.

It is painted on gessoed paper and mounted on wood panel. The painting can be bought framed in a handmade off white wooden box frame or unframed at a reduced price.
