The painting is inspired by an afternoon spent on Portminster Beach in the summer of 2019 when thunderous rain clouds were every present creating a wonderful atmospheric quality ove the Bay of St Ives. The waves were breaking as the tide was coming in and the beach started to free of families who had enjoyed a lovely day.
