I was inspired to create this one after thinking about all the previous jobs I had, yet always wanting to come home and dive head first into creating art. Art has always been my safe space, my outlet, my joy; this piece is about retrieving one's freedom from the constructs of society, and living life creatively.
Sometimes in life you have to run and take a leap even if that means you will feel as if you are in freefall before you touch ground. To tell the story of this creation, I also painted the original colours used in the form of paint bottles below the easel as a reminder of how all the colours within the painting came to be. I used a very limited palette of red yellow blue black and white. Just these coloured were mixed for the entire duration of the piece. The back of the canvas in the painting barely has a splash of paint apart from the little accidents which occured during painting each layer.
