Quiet_224 is an acrylics and paint markers painting on canvas. Multiple transparent layers create depth and fine detail by contrasting fine line work in the background with organic and geometric shapes at the foreground. As such, the eyes can wander around and explore different pictorial elements, while the different layers are optically combined into a harmonious composition. The background starts with a fine pattern, elements of (architectural design), while towards the foreground, layers become increasingly abstract. The color scheme somewhat reminds of concrete, a hint towards the link to architectural design. The painting takes inspiration from constructivism and Bauhaus paintings, as well as minimalist nordic and japanese graphic design to create a peaceful sensation.
