ORIGINAL OGNYAN CHITAKOV ARTWORK !!!

2021, "静夜思 (Quiet Night Thought)" - stone wall sculpture

This original melted volcanic rock wall sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the skilful Bulgarian contemporary professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov, deeply inspired by naturalism, postmodernism and zen art. The artwork represents the artist's idea of beauty and aesthetics in general. The stones are melted at high degree temperatures, reaching the point where they are back to their origin magma state and then slowly cooled down for days. The artist's concept is to restart the formation of the material and bring it naturally to a new organic shape and name it after beautiful ancient Chinese poems. This wall sculpture is one extraordinary melted stone masterpiece and exquisite modern home wall décor.

The five-character verse of "Quiet Night Thought" written by the great Tang dynasty poet Li Bai (701 – 762 C.E.) describes his nostalgia while gazing upon the autumn moon. The language of the poem is plain but expressive too.

"Each stone material is alive and has a soul. I never ignore it and its gravity as well. I try to give each artwork the feeling of lightness." ... by the artist
