This painting depicts a quiet late October afternoon following an autumn rainstorm in Paris, along the Marne River in an area that was popular with the French Impressionists. The crisp blue air with puffy clouds creates a beautiful backdrop for the majestic trees that are in the process of changing into their fall colors.

The artist used a variety of techniques with palette knives, brushes, and other tools to create a range of textures in this painting.
