Original artwork description:

This was painted after a visit there two years ago and is based on a gouache sketch I made in this quiet part of town although progress on that was curtailed by an afternoon thunderstorm - this is how it looked before the rain came! Fort Cochin is a very relaxed place (for India!) to base oneself before venturing out again to the full-on experience that is India. The orange building is an Ayurvedic centre, the building on the left is an antiques shop. This painting was featured in an article I wrote for Artists & Illustrators magazine in the Summer 2013 issue.

Materials used:

oil on mdf board, gessoed on both sides.
